The Senior Systems Engineer/Technical Team Lead position serves two critical functions within the organization. Consultants in this position represent the highest level of technical expertise available within the organization – the best of the best and the last line of defense. Providing consulting expertise both onsite and remotely as the critical technical contact with customers and coworkers represents approximately 85% of the position’s responsibilities. This position also serves in a leadership role over a team of technical consultants to provide guidance, knowledge transfer, project management, process and methodology definition, and technical leadership. No two days are the same and can involve anything from helping an end user with a desktop issue to managing and executing a large infrastructure migration project over several weeks. The position at times requires independence as the problems nobody else can figure out fall to this position, but also requires the ability to effectively lead a project team, and manage all phases of a technical project from cradle to grave.
You have five plus years of directly related experience, preferably in a consulting environment, with proven technical competence as confirmed by industry certification and/or experience. A bachelor’s degree in engineering or MCITP certification is required. You must be self-motivated, embrace difficult tasks and challenges, and cannot ever leave a technical issue unsolved. You must possess BRILLIANT troubleshooting skills, and if you don’t know the answer, need to be able to figure it out fast using any resources at your disposal. You look forward to not having to work in the same environment day in and day out. You are willing to work occasional nights and weekends for large infrastructure projects.
You are an EXPERT in the following:
All Microsoft desktop and server platforms
The following experience is a plus:
You will be expected to maintain professional and technical knowledge by attending educational workshops, reviewing professional publications, establishing personal networks, benchmarking state-of-the-art practices and participating in professional societies.
The successful candidate must be a “hands-on” sort of person—someone who can “speak English” and effectively address technical issues with non-technical clients in a customer-friendly manner. You must also be able to interface with IT Directors and staff on a highly technical level in complex mid market environments.
This is a full time (W-2) position with an extremely competitive compensation package for the right candidate. Additional components include a full benefits package with 401(k), health and dental insurance as well as mileage reimbursement, smart phone, continuing education program and paid vacation and sick time.
